In his role as a manager, professor, trainer, Human Resources consultant, and business owner, Merrill Jones has led teams to design and develop HR solutions that have achieved recognition, produced results, and have been benchmarked by other organizations. He has been instrumental in developing a variety of creative, comprehensive HR programs for Fortune 500 companies.
Merrill has had client relationships with such organizations as Starbucks Coffee Company, Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., Savers, Inc., Microsoft, Workers Assistance Program, Central Texas College, Concordia University—Austin, Hill College, and Dell Computer Corporation, just to name a few.
Before becoming co-owner of JVG Solutions, Inc., Merrill created Training and Performance Solutions, a company he still owns and operates. He has also managed the training department for the Texas Workers' Compensation Insurance Fund (now Texas Mutual Insurance Company), worked as a training specialist for a state agency, and served as a professor of communication at several colleges and universities.
Merrill has developed and planned conferences and workshops and has published academic and non-academic essays related to management practices and communication. He graduated from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge with a Ph.D. in Communication. He holds a Certificate in Human Resources Management from the University of Texas—Austin, and a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certificate from the Society of Human Resource Management. He is also certified in conflict mediation from Chorda Conflict Management Inc.
