As the person responsible for the Human Resources function, you partner with managers (internal clients) and their direct reports. You help the organization be effective when it must respond to business needs and challenges. In doing so, you play a major role in shaping the direction of the organization and in helping it more effectively manage the human assets, which are the employees. You ensure that the organization complies with the laws, regulations, policies, and procedures critical to your industry.
Developing effective communication systems and skills is an ongoing process that requires an understanding of what is needed by whom and for whom, as well as dedication, commitment, and willingness to learn to continuously improve ways to enhance communication across the organization.
As the HR representative, whether in day to day communication or communication for crises, you are in a variety of situations in which you must decide on the best means to communicate a message with a specific purpose for a specific audience, whether it’s by written communication or the spoken word.
