As the person responsible for the Human Resources function, you partner with managers (internal clients) and their direct reports. You help the organization be effective when it must respond to business needs and challenges. In doing so, you play a major role in shaping the direction of the organization and in helping it more effectively manage the human assets, which are the employees. You ensure that the organization complies with the laws, regulations, policies, and procedures critical to your industry.
Human Resources’ role in staffing has taken on newer and greater proportions into today’s organizations. Hiring right is critical, of course, but staffing now encompasses not only attracting and recruiting employees, but also coming up with creative ways to compete with other organizations and retain qualified employees. This means HR has a broadened and important role in managing the talent of the organization.
